Epoch started in my garage in 2019. I'd been collecting since I was a kid. NES games at first, then it spread to everything: SNES, N64, GameBoy, eventually branching into figures, trading cards, vintage electronics. The usual trajectory for someone with zero impulse control around old stuff.
After years of buying and selling at conventions and on eBay, it made sense to build something more permanent. So I cleaned out half the garage, put up some shelves, and started photographing everything properly.
I'm Mike. I run this with my partner Jess and two part-time employees who are as obsessive about this stuff as I am. We moved into a real retail space in 2022, but honestly, most of our business still happens online. The shop is more of a showroom and processing center at this point.
No "seller refurbished" games that skip. No figures missing accessories described as "complete." If there's a flaw, we tell you about it. Every listing has real photos taken by us, not stock images.
If it has a power button, we test it. Consoles are cleaned, tested with multiple games, and run for at least 30 minutes before we list them. Disc-based systems get their lasers checked.
We pull pricing from recent completed sales on eBay, PriceCharting, and TCGPlayer. We're not here to gouge anyone. If the market says a game is worth $40, we're not listing it at $80 because of "condition."
Games go in bubble mailers with cardboard stiffeners. Figures get double-boxed. Cards go in top-loaders inside team bags inside rigid mailers. We've shipped over 5,000 items with a damage rate under 0.1%.
